RESUMO: Este trabalho foi conduzido no viveiro da Embrapa Cerrados, em Planaltina (DF), com o objetivo de avaliar a viabilidade da enxertia de mudas de mangabeira (Hancornia spp.) pelos métodos de garfagem lateral à inglesa simples, borbulhia de placa com janela aberta e borbulhia de escudo com lenho. A realização da enxertia ocorreu durante a estação chuvosa de verão. Os porta-enxertos apresentavam diâmetro do caule entre 0,5 e 1 cm a 10 cm do solo e foram produzidos em sacos plásticos de 20 x 30 cm. RESUMO: Este trabalho foi conduzido no viveiro da Embrapa Cerrados, em Planaltina (DF), com a reealização da enxertaria durante a estação chuvosa de verão. Teve como objetivo avaliar a viabilidade da enxertaria de mudas de pequizeiro (Caryocar brasiliense Camb.) pelos métodos de garfagem lateral ou à inglesa simples, borbulhia de placas sem lenho e com janela aberta e borbulhia de escudo com lenho. The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of cell sizes used for strawberry plug production in trays compared to bare root transplants, regarding initial plant size, harvest timing, and total strawberry fruit yield. Plug transplants were produced from runner tips rooted in trays with cell sizes of 26.5, 50, 100 and 150 cm³ filled with Plantmax HA organic substrate. Bare root transplants (control) were produced in a closed soilless system using sand as substrate. A randomized block design was used, with four replicates with 16 plants per plot. The objective of this work was to test a closed soilless growing system for producing bare root transplants and runner tips of two strawberry clones, using two categories of substrates. The system used corrugated roofing panels of fiber-cement, over which a substrate layer was used as a growing bed. The nutrient solution was pumped from a reservoir toward the upper end of the roofing panels and drained back to a reservoir. The effect of the nutrient solution concentration on potato plant growth and minituber yield were determined in a sand closed hydroponic system. Minitubers and micropropagated plantlets of the cv. 'Macaca' were used. Treatments were five nutrient solution concentrations at electrical conductivities (EC) of 1.0 (T1), 2.2 (T2), 3.4 (T3), 4.7 (T4) and 5.8dS m-1 (T5). Objetivou-se verificar a influência do uso de proporções de esterco bovino na composição do substrato sobre o crescimento e a qualidade das mudas de Handroanthus heptaphyllus. Utilizou-se um experimento em delineamento inteiramente casualizado. Foram avaliadas cinco diferentes proporções de esterco bovino na composição do substrato: 0, 15, 30, 45 e 60%.Verificou-se que as mudas de H. heptaphyllus responderam positivamente à utilização de 21% a 28% esterco bovino.

RESUMO: A seleção de porta-enxertos para nanismo tem sido um aspecto importante no programa de melhoramento de manga na região do Brasil Central. As cultivares de manga para exportação Tommy Atkins e Haden, embora produtivas, com frutas de coloração excelente e polpa sem fibras são vigorosas e de porte elevado, o que dificulta os tratos culturais e colheita. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar o efeito de copas e porta-enxertos no crescimento da planta, no rendimento e na qualidade dos frutos da manga. O experimento foi implantado em novembro de 1990 numa área de 4,0 ha. Propagation of the fig tree predominately uses hardwood cuttings obtained from pruning stock plants. With a view to optimising fig tree propagation, the effects of auxin and misting on the rooting of herbaceous and hardwood cuttings from the fig tree were evaluated. An experiment was set up in a 2x2x2 factorial design, with two types of cuttings (softwood and hardwood), two levels of auxin (0 and 1000 mg L-1 indolbutyric acid) and two environments (with and without misting). Thirty days after starting the experiment, rooting, root length, sprouting and losses were all evaluated. RESUMO: Visando ao estabelecimento de um protocolo de assepsia para a micropropagação de diferentes cultivares de mangueira, foram coletadas no campo, por um período de dois anos (2000-2001), microestacas e folhas jovens e tratadas no laboratório com hipoclorito de sódio (v/v) 2% com Tween 80 a 0,025% por 15 minutos no caso de microestacas e, 0,5; 1,0; 1,5 e 2% com Tween 80 a 0,06 por 5 minutos no caso de folhas jovens. ABSTRACT: The mangaba (Hancornia spp.) is a native fruit and latex tree of wide spread occurrence in the Brazilian Savannh, Pantanal, Amazon, and Atlantic Coast from Amapá to Espírito Santo States.
